2025 BSS Spring National Field Trial Information

By entering this event, you agree not to hold the BSS or the landowner(s) responsible for loss of property, damage, or injury incurred during this event. The BSS is not responsible for loss, accident, or theft and further assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury sustained by the handlers or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians. You give the BSS the right to publish the results and photos as the entity with rights to the event and agree to have results published in any and all BSS media outlets.
The Boykin Spaniel Society and the field trial committee welcome you to the 2025 BSS Nationals. We hope that your weekend with us is a great one. A lot is planned, so check your schedules and the maps, and you will be fine. If all that doesn't work, please ask one of the marshals; they are at each stake under the orange marker flag.
Local landowners generously donated all of this year’s property. We are their guests and respect their land, roads, and facilities. Please pick up after yourself, others, and your dogs. Take a few minutes at each location and see if you can help us get invited back. Please leave it as you find it.
The first BSS field trial was held in Boykin almost 40 years ago, and we are happy to be back. If you have any questions or suggestions, please get in touch with any of the Directors or Nationals Committee members.
Camden City Arena - 420 Broad Street (Corner of Broad and Bull Streets) Camden, SC 29020
Check-in begins Thursday afternoon and runs through Friday morning at the City Arena.
The oyster roast and BBQ will be held Thursday at 5:30 pm in the Kershaw–Cornwallis House Rose Garden. The Kershaw-Cornwallis house is located on the historic Camden Revolutionary War Park grounds. Prepaid entry ticket only. No tickets will be available at the event.
Friday Night Banquet will begin at 6 pm at the Camden City Arena.

BSS Oyster Roast 5:30 pm - 8 pm ET

Join us on Thursday evening, April 10th, for the highly anticipated annual Knock the Dust-Off oyster roast and BBQ! This lively event marks the true beginning of the weekend, bringing together old friends and new faces to indulge in the delicious smoky flavors of BBQ and the refreshing brine of oysters, all complemented by your choice of chilled wine or beer. This year, we are excited to host the oyster roast at the beautiful Kershaw-Cornwallis house and its enchanting rose garden, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The Kershaw-Cornwallis house, a striking white Georgian-style building, is conveniently located on the hill behind the City Arena within the historic Camden Revolutionary War Park.
Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to kick off your weekend in style!

We are guests of the owners, and they live here. I’m sure we can all respect the grounds, the owners, and the birds just like we do our dogs.

We will have a Handler meeting on 1/18/2025 at 7:30am.
All entries are accepted on the condition that the society, its officials, the membership and landowners are released from all liability for loss, damage or injury sustained by any dog or man in connection with or during the running of the trial. By signing, you agree NOT to hold the BSS responsible for loss of property or damage incurred during this event. By entry or attendance into this event you also give the BSS the right to publish the results, photos, and names and agree to have the results published in any BSS media outlet.

BSS Annual Members Meeting 4 pm ET

At the conclusion of the BSF Health clinics is the annual BSS Members meeting at 4 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The meeting is held in the conference room inside the Camden City Arena building 517 Bull Street, Camden, SC. Immediately following the BSS Members meeting is the BSS Board of Directors meeting where the 2025-2028 Board members are seated. All BSS members are welcome to attend.

below to serve on the Boykin Spaniel Society Board of Directors for the term 2025-2028.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PHOTO SUBMISSION:
• The owner of the pup must be a current BSS member
in good standing
• The pup must be BSS registered
• The BSS registration number (BSR#) must accompany the
photo along with the owner’s name.
• The pup must be 12 months or less WHEN the photo was taken
• The pup must be the primary subject of the photo
• There is a 2 photo limit per pup
• Photos must be at least 300 dpi and do not crop the photo to
resize. Send the original photo for best resolution
• Photos must be received at the BSS office via email at
boykinspanielsociety1977@gmail.com by 4 pm EST on
August 15, 2023
• There will be a 1st Place Cover Puppy Winner and 2nd-4th
places awarded. Ribbons will be mailed to the four contest
placements and honorable mention photos.

The Boykin Spaniel Foundation BSF is pleased to announce the hosting of its annual Health Clinic on Thursday, April 10th, from 10 am to 4 pm at Camden City Arena located at 517 Bull Street, Camden, SC. This event is an excellent opportunity for Boykin Spaniel owners to ensure the health and well-being of their little brown dog. The clinic will offer a variety of essential health exams: patellar checks for $25, microchipping for $10, and discounted DNA testing with Paw Print Genetics.
Furthermore, the BSF is pleased to announce that it will cover the submission fees for all OFA applications for registered Boykin Spaniels.
Attendees must be current members of the BSS and possess a registered Boykin Spaniel to participate in the free clinics. We look forward to seeing you at the clinic and supporting the health of our beloved Boykin Spaniels together.
